Antiquorum Presents for the First Time Ever at Auction: Patek Philippe Ref. 5711/1a Nautilus “Green Dial”

Antiquorum, The World’s Premier Auctioneers of Modern and Vintage Timepieces, will be holding its upcoming auction in Monaco on Wednesday, July 21st, 2021, where collectors will have a chance to bid for the first time ever on a Patek Philippe Ref. 5711/1A—otherwise known as the steel Nautilus with sunburst olive green dial introduced earlier this year as the model replacing the iconic blue dialed Ref. 5711-1A-010.

This Monaco auction will also present numerous lots representing a retrospective of Gerald Genta’s most iconic designs, from the aforementioned Nautilus to rare and unique Royal Oak models and pieces from his eponymous brand.

“The Patek Philippe Nautilus continues to be one of the biggest bestsellers in watchmaking. An incredibly coveted and sought-after model, we are honored and proud to offer for the first time at auction a Ref. 5711/1A in fantastic condition, which since its introduction in 2021 by the brand is already sold out everywhere. We also have fantastic pieces from F.P. Journe, Audemars Piguet, Rolex and many more to complete our total 433 lots for an auction that is sure to break records.” – Romain Réa, Antiquorum CEO.

After Patek Philippe CEO Thierry Stern’s surprise announcement at Watches & Wonders 2021 that the brand would replace its storied Ref. 5711-1A-010 with the Ref. 5711/1A with olive green dial, the new reference quickly became the hottest watch on the market with a growing waiting list. This piece, LOT 152, has been consigned from the original owner and factory sealed—allowing bidders a rare opportunity to acquire a brand-new Nautilus that is currently incredibly difficult to obtain.

Antiquorum will also be presenting rare and unique lots from brands such as F.P. Journe and Rolex.
